This is what Marc Guillemot wanted to achieve when addressing the Marc van Peteghem & Lauriot-Prévost design house, renowned for its ocean going trimarans, but not approached very frequently to design monohulls. The two architects called upon Guillaume Verdier, who previously worked for Groupe Finot, who had done a lot of work on the IMOCA 60 footers. Spurred on by the skipper of Safran, the trio focussed on a very light but powerful construction with a beamy hull and stark deck layout. This monohull, which took the start of its first race in the Transat Jacques Vabre, has been eagerly awaited.
